CO2 Cooling Systems

At the beginning of November 2018, FRIGOMAX put into operation CO2 refrigeration equipment in one of the "MAXI“ supermarket in Belgrade.

That was the first time in Serbia and the region, that transcritical CO2 cooling system was applied, with which this "Delhaize" facility was equipped. We was working on development of this system in the previous few years, together with a group of foreign partners. This project has produced a complete, efficient, simple solution that includes energy savings. By using CO2 as a cooling medium instead of typical installations in which different types of freon are used, the negative impact on the ozone layer, like global warming, is reduced. This first CO2 store in Serbia with transcritical system is the crown of our work.

In the past 3 years, FRIGOMAX has continued with the design, delivery and installation of CO2 systems, of various capacities and purposes. Following the pioneering endeavor from 2018, together with our partners, we continued to develop the application of CO2 cooling systems, working on the execution of many projects and in this way gained valuable experience.

In the years ahead, we will face very serious changes in regulations when it comes to the use of freon (F-gas regulations), which will mean the transition from traditional cooling systems to more environmentally friendly models.

CO2 cooling systems are the most adequate alternative to previous cooling systems. They are absolutely compliant and meet all environmental standards that are already in force in most of Europe, but also significantly affect the efficiency and reliability of cooling systems.

Yet, the choice of equipment, as well as the installation of such a system, requires greater reliability than usual, comparing with conventional cooling systems, which is the reason why FRIGOMAX is the most suitable partner like supplier and installer of CO2 cooling systems, whether it is equipping a supermarket, or a refrigerated warehouse.
